PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Technical Sketch
We can create sketches illustrating construction, dimension and placements as a supplement to Technical Specifications
Technical Specifications
Base size specifications can be created to sew prototypes
Technical Packages for imports with sizing instructions can be created once the single size specification has been approved
Technical Specifications include the following information:
* Design and Construction Details
* Trim Placements and Specifications
* Pattern Assembly Details (including machine requirements)
* Garment Dimension per Size
Fabric and Trim Sourcing
We can source fabrics and trims as part of a Full Package or Private Label program

PATTERN MAKING
PAD System Pattern Drafting
We combine all the advantages that PAD System has to offer with more traditional manual pattern drafting methods that are often required for more intricate designs
Pattern drafting can be based on:
* Technical Sketch (front and back view) and one of our stock libraries
* Measurements provided by client along with technical sketch
* Sample garments and technical sketch
Pattern Base Size Fit
We have developed a library of "stock" sizing options that our clients can use as a starting point to develop their signature fit
These sizing options include:
* Menswear
* Womenswear
* Plus Sizes
* Childrens
PAD System Digitizing
Paper or oak tag patterns not created by Unlimited Design Services can be converted to Pad System files by digitizing
CAD File or Hard Copy
Patterns can be exported to a variety of formats, including:
*DXF Universal format recognised by all Industria CAD Systems
*Adobe Illustrator Excellent for the engineering of graphics on pattern pieces
*Adobe PDF To print at any FedEx Kikkos with a wide format (36") plotter
Patterns can also be printed to Bond Paper or be cut out of Oak Tag

PRE - PRODUCTION
Shrinkage
We can test your fabrics for shrinkage and make necessary adjustments to patterns accordingly
This can decrease the level of returns dramatically, as consumers will end up with garments that withstand washes without shrinking or distorting drastically.
Fabric Yields
We can estimate how much fabric is required to complete your order based on the patterns we have created for you
This service will prevent fabric shortages and costly surcharges associated with rushing secondary fabric rolls to complete the order
Grading
The process of making your pattern into different sizes is carried out after your base size pattern has been released for production
We can propose a set of grading increments from our stock libraries or we can grade according to increments or measurements provided by the client
Marker Layout
When a pattern that has been released to go into production and all pieces (of every size) have been laid out into the fabric to get fabric usage
We can propose propose pattern changes to improve efficiency as there are many factors (besides fabric width) that can affect efficiency:
*One way Nap
*Engineered Stripe
*Border Print
*Tubular Fabric
A mini-marker will be e-mailed to the client for approval to confirm that the fabric usage is satisfactory
CAD File or Hard Copy
Graded Pattern sets or Markers can be exported to a variety of formats, including:
*DXF Universal format recognised by all Industria CAD Systems
*Adobe Illustrator Excellent for the engineering of graphics on pattern pieces
*Adobe PDF To print at any FedEx Kikkos with a wide format (36") plotter
Graded pattern sets can also be printed to Bond Paper or be cut out of Oak Tag
Markers can also be printed to (60") Bond Paper

SAMPLES
There
is a variety of services available for different stages of pattern
development or sampling including:
Sample Cutting
Samples can be cut from fabrics provided by client
Sample Sewing
*Pattern Test / Toile Sewn in alternative fabric to run a preliminary test on pattern
*Prototype Sample The focus is on getting proportion right and making sure that chosen fabrics behave as expected
*First Sample Any corrections resulting from Prototype review have already been implemented, so the focus is on getting hanger appeal, fit and construction right
*Duplicate Sample Minor corrections from First Sample are implemented and the focus is on costing
*Pre - Production Sample Congratulations! You got orders and his is the first step to confirm that the fabric and trims being used in production behave as those used for prototypes... This is also the sample where substitute materials are tested (if fabrics or trims originally sampled are no longer an option for production)
*Production Sample This sample reflects the fit, construction and materials that have been approved for production and is given to the Factory to follow as a standard to meet
